The Little Things #TechChallenged

No matter how many times I edit, save and twist my photos…they always seem to be the wrong way.

This post was originally scheduled to be about the little things in the life that reinforce you are with the right person, in the right place in your life or things that just make you smile at any given time. The feeling of contentment, of bliss. The little thing that fills your heart with happiness…

Instead I’ve spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure out why the hell I can never post a picture that is right side up on this damn blog? Hence the hashtag I was forced to add after finally conceding the loss. LOL

The mug was an impulse buy tonight, while out in the local Target with my daughter…I’m sure it will put a smile on my face tomorrow morning when The Man gets up, finds it in the cabinet and fills it with my coffee, but at the moment I’m thinking wine might be a little more satisfying right now – in the mug? Why not.

And if you know the secret to getting my photos to cooperate with me, please…please share!

Welcome to 2017!

Welcome to 2017

I don’t believe in New Year Resolutions. What I do believe in is a yearly mantra and after much thought on the subject, the above is what I came up for this year.

Be Positive…because there is ALWAYS something good to find. Sometimes life gives us lessons, sometimes is gives us exactly what we think we need or the complete opposite. But whatever happens, our reaction is what colors the moment. The whole honey instead of vinegar idea? Yea…that!

Be Brave…Every day we get out of bed there is a new opportunity to move forward toward a goal, it’s a new chance to change something, to do something, to make a difference in your own life. But let’s be honest, sometimes change is scary! Every hurdle, every choice, requires us to be brave and push forward. Sometimes you have to close your eyes and leap. You are braver than you think!

Be Committed…Because goals won’t happen overnight and dreams don’t come true if we don’t work toward them. To To reach for the brass ring, you have to actually be ON the merry-go-round…not standing on the side and dreaming about it. Whatever goal or dream you have for the future…commit to it every day!

Happy 2017 my friends!

Thoughts for a Sunday

Hmmm…who wouldn’t be swayed by the lure of a clean rest room?

Let me start by saying I HATE New Year resolutions. At least for me, I never get through the first few weeks, then I feel like a failure by February.

I prefer an yearly mantra. A few key words or a sentence that I feel sums up where I want to be by the end of the year or how I want to live my life.

A few years back one of my keywords was “tribe” as in, I needed to find my tribe and surround myself with a tribe of those who were headed in the same direction.

I blogged a lot, was a constant visitor to my Facebook page and twitter.

Then, life happens and derails the train.

So, this year as I consider what my 2017 Mantra will be, I look at the sign and remember the destination we hope for is important to keep in focus, but it’s the journey that creates the memories.

Knowing that clean rest room was waiting was a plus…having enjoyed lunch with an old friend I hadn’t seen in years and sharing the laughs as we found our way to that clean rest room up the back stairs, through a dark narrow hallway, was worth way more.

As we head in to the mad dash to Christmas, I wish you a safe week ahead…wherever your destination may be.

See you next week! 🙂

Weekend Update…Weekly Goals

Next week we’re having a party for my son…and this week The Man went into serious “house prep” mode.

Now, let me back up and say that The Man and I get around 5am during the week. I write at the computer off the kitchen, we have coffee together and the tv is usually on, while he gets a head start on his paperwork for the day ahead. He does have a guilty pleasure…he loves the home shopping channels!

These chairs came on and we both commented at the same time they’d be perfect for the alcove in the living room instead of that table and chairs that occupy the space now.

Turns out we were right! Don’t they look nice?

A Proposal & Pumpkin Pie is back from the editor and almost ready to go off to the copy editor…woo hoo.

My Western Novella, Saving Susanna, is on track to be done this month too, and I just saw the cover for the anthology and it’s beautiful!

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday!

Pics of the Week 7.24.16

Luna…doing what Luna does best. LOL

Friday night stroll at sunset on Westhampton Beach.

Just heavenly.

Capped off a great Sunday with The Man at a local hotel. Live band, a few drinks and oysters and shrimp.

Silly selfie with The Man.

He definitely makes me laugh. 🙂

Hope you had a great week!
