Thoughts for a Sunday

Hmmm…who wouldn’t be swayed by the lure of a clean rest room?

Let me start by saying I HATE New Year resolutions. At least for me, I never get through the first few weeks, then I feel like a failure by February.

I prefer an yearly mantra. A few key words or a sentence that I feel sums up where I want to be by the end of the year or how I want to live my life.

A few years back one of my keywords was “tribe” as in, I needed to find my tribe and surround myself with a tribe of those who were headed in the same direction.

I blogged a lot, was a constant visitor to my Facebook page and twitter.

Then, life happens and derails the train.

So, this year as I consider what my 2017 Mantra will be, I look at the sign and remember the destination we hope for is important to keep in focus, but it’s the journey that creates the memories.

Knowing that clean rest room was waiting was a plus…having enjoyed lunch with an old friend I hadn’t seen in years and sharing the laughs as we found our way to that clean rest room up the back stairs, through a dark narrow hallway, was worth way more.

As we head in to the mad dash to Christmas, I wish you a safe week ahead…wherever your destination may be.

See you next week! 🙂
